The holiday madness is already in full swing, at least it is in my world! Lots of fun events on the schedule – but that also means lots of challenging situations where plant based food is not always featured. A busy schedule also means more meals on the go or less time to cook – which also means it’s harder to plan or eat plant based dishes. Or maybe the new excitement of the lifestyle is starting to wear off and it’s becoming a little easier to slip in to bad habits. I say all this because I know I have been struggling lately and I wonder how many of you are as well. I see the posts have slowed down and maybe people are crazy busy, I just hope it’s not something more.
This way of eating is a big change and it does take effort and discipline, but I believe it is WORTH it! I believe my health is WORTH it! I believe my family & friends and the time I want to have here to share with them is WORTH it! I believe I am WORTH it! I do have to remind myself of that from time to time. Because this is difficult and when you take one step off track it becomes easier to take another step, and another, and then you find yourself far from where you want to be. But I have to focus on the good choices and changes in my diet – and I know I have made a lot of them, too!
Every once in a while I need a swift kick in the butt and a pat on the back – odd combination I know – but both are equally important! So I thought I’d offer you the same just in case you needed it. Don’t let the season or a busy schedule get you off track! It’s not just about the holiday – it’s about today, tomorrow and your future. At the same time look at the good choices you are making and celebrate that!
Thanks for letting rant and give myself a pep talk. I hope it also helps any of you who might needed it. And keep those posts coming! I need some more ideas for dishes that my darling Husband can cook for me!
Cheers,
Nicole

This is terrific. A true way of looking at it and let me say this:
It is not easy, but nothing in life worth having is. You have to fight through the tough to get to the good.
That being said, don’t allow the excuse of the holidays to penetrate because it then becomes: Well it was Valentine’s Day or the first BBQ of Spring and I’ll start tomorrow.
Keep going strong.
Thanks Jason, I will stay strong! And I am happy and enjoying the foods I am eating! Any change can be a challenge but I will not let a certain day of the year or any other distraction throw me off course.
